Training objectives in the Initial Stage

Most young players are in club soccer because they love to play soccer.  It is our responsibility to continue to nurture that love to play.  Focus in practices is fun games with developing motor skills and muscles necessary to play soccer.  There is much individual contact with the ball, but at the same time, the player is learning to be a part of a team and is given different responsibilities within the team.

Games played will all be on fields 30' x 20' with 4 x 6 goals.  Players will play 4 v 4 to insure plenty of time to touch the ball and develop their motor skills in a small space. The game will have 4 quarters of 8 minutes each.  There will be no goalies and no offsides.  Success on or off the playing field will be recognized in a positive manner to build self esteem.   Players are encouraged to figure out the cause of their mistakes and how to make an improvement.

TRAINING

Our players train on average twice per week for approximately 9 months out of the year. The focus is on skill development and our training is the focal point of our weekly regiment. We also provide competition, but the development of their footskills and their comfort level when on the ball is the priority. You will notice we practice much more than we play games or matches with this program and the reason is so emphasis is on player development. At practices focus will be on coordination, footskills, ball touch, ball control, comfort level on the ball and FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We currently have 1 practice from 5-6pm on Mondays. They play Saturdays anytime between 9 and noon. The format is 4v4 and they play between 6 and 8 Saturdays per session.

U7/8 ACADEMY PROGRAM

The U7/8 Academy program is geared towards young players between the ages of 6 and 7 yrs old that are interested in increasing their technical abilities and footskills, but also develop their passion for the game.

Our players train with highly qualified staff coaches that are specialists on these age groups and on the early development stages. Our coaches provide consistent guidance, attention and are focused on teaching the fundamentals and more importantly allow our players the opportunity to apply these skills in a competitive and fun environment where their creativity, skill, athleticism and teamwork will have the opportunity to be nurtured, grow and develop.

Our U7/8 Academy program is also the best pathway to our more competitive teams at U9 and up. This program will provide the best opportunity for young players to succeed as they grow and enter premier club soccer.
